1-2018 Competitor review
News:
- A New project has just been announced to promote
plastics as Fuel. Plastic
Odyssey is a non profit that is building a 25 meter demonstration
ship that will use only plastics as fuel. In fall of 2019 it will
start a 3 year round- the-world tour to promote plastics as fuel. They
will gather plastics as fuel at each port from waste, and process it on
board the ship. Not a competitor, but it will surely increase acceptance
of plastics based fuel for ships.
- A Chinese Company
CYReports is soliciting
buyers for $3300 report on the Global Plastics to oil
Industry they will do in the 1st Quarter of 2018. They list many of the
companies we track as primary players. This shows that they think there is increasing
interest in this market.
- Argonne
Labs produced a government study last May that Green House Gas Emissions are substantially
reduced in the Plastic to oil process. Report is not new to
us, but the report is getting passed around more and more.
- The
National Conference for Plastics Recycling is Being Held In
Nashville, Feb 19-21. I’ll watch for papers.
Competitor Update:
- 12/28/2017 - P2Oil Plastic to Oil seems to have finally
found a partner in Verdisyn Technologies
The
20 year Deal is to license and sell its technology. Here
is the 8-K the filed with the SEC. Veridisyn Technologies is an
Alabama based LLC. the Press release says they have extensive experience in processing waste plastics, but
that does not appear to be the case. Formed as an LLC, they have no web page
and one officer. Veridisyn Technologies, LLC is an Alabama Domestic Limited-Liability Company filed
on July 28, 2014 . The company's filing status is listed as Exists
and its File Number is 314-984. The Registered Agent on file for this company is Curtis, Dana C and
is located at 11208 Mountain Park Circle, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405
- Klean Industries
sales group is trying sell tours of a 33,000 TPY tire Pyrolysis
plant in Canada in Feb 2018. $7500 per person non-disclosures etc. are
required. No evidence of an active plant
- RES Polyflow says their
Indiana plant will open in 2019 and be fully operational in 2021.
no new news on this front
- Agilyx They
Signed on another polystyrene customer
- Nexus
Fuels. Here is their Tech,
Atlanta GA-no plants yet evident.
- RGen is a 6 year old engineering company in
Castle Rock, Colorado appears
to be flying under the radar like us. I found them because
KWS Engineering is very proud
of their RAM solution they provided for R-Gen’s Pyrolysis reactor. Here
is what they did with all the engineering details. They must not have
signed an NDA.
- RGEN
is a member of the Global Recycler network
- They
are a member of RecycleWorld network
- There is no plant of record for them, so they may be
building one near Castle Rock Colorado. Will search permits later.
- Plastic Advanced Recycling Corporation manufactures Pyrolysis equipment.
(P.A.R.C) is an Illinois corporation formed in June, 1996. Current adds
show a 20-30 TPD unit for "basic treatment". here is their tech.
Oil production is 50-70% oil. 80,000 hour lifespan or ten years. They seem
to have 1 producing plant
in china that seems
to use water in their process.
- Vadxx: Continues to Try and create retail
markets for their branded fuel directly.
- Clean
Blue Technologies- In NC - no new
news. They are very quiet- we may have lost them.
- MK Aromatics is small an Indian Aromatic chemical
manufacturer who uses pyrolysis and waste plastics as a feedstock. No new news on any plans to use their tech for oil
production, but they keep coming up when analysts report on the market
- Recycling Technologies, a new player, a Scotland based company
with the UK government and 100 other investors. Their business plan is to
produce small pyrolysis units and lease them to EU plastic manufacturers
to deal with their waste. Lots of press.
- PLASTIC ENERGY, is a UK based company which appears
to have two operating plants. They provided plastic based fuels and
promoted a 2017 aircraft flight in Australia. They appear to be fuel
sellers and not technology producers.
- PK
Clean has changed their name to Renewology. Their website says their Canadian plant
was due to open at the end of 2017, but there has been no press release to
that effect. The CEO is speaking at the plastic recycling conference in
Nashville in Feb 20th. Here
is an interview about her upcoming presentation. They
have recently signed a deal with the city of Boise, ID to receive all
their waste their post-consumer plastic. Worried about the China ban, the
city has a new ordinance requiring plastics 3-7 be put into a separate
plastic bag. The City will truck his plastic directly to Renewology's Salt
Lake city demonstration plant. This suggests they may be expanding that
plant into full production.
