The Promise: How God's Promises Engages us in His work

 

There are times when God reached down and directly intervenes to do a change so profound and and significant that it can only be attributed to His hand. He does it for his glory alone. While we can never know why, where, when, with whom he does it, there are some things He frequently does during such a move that we can look for. Watching and praying over those things can help us move in Cooperation with Him.

God Created the Nation of Israel from a dream and a Promise he planted in 1 Leader in each of  4 Generations.  For each generational leader He gave:

 1. Abram/Abraham and Sarai/Sarah:    Creation of the Promise    Genesis 12

  • The vision and promise for the long dream; 
    • God is always at work around you.
    • Believe the promise
  • The vision and promise for the generation; 
    •  God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.
  • The crisis of belief, requiring faith and action 
    • God’s Promise for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action. 
  • Do the work in alignment with God's direction
    • God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.
  • Makes the Changes as he reveals them
    • adjustments in your life to respond to God and join God in what He is doing
    • As you obey Him,  He fulfills His plan and promise in his Fruit through you.
    • The Sifting that sets the stage for the next calling
  • Passing on the Blessing and the Promise to the next generation to their next calling
  • The Generational lessons enrich the promise, or you have to learn them over

 2. Isaac and Rebekah            Child of  the Promise                        Genesis 22

3. Jacob Rachel, Leah, Bilhah, Zilpah & the   Tribes of the Promise  Genesis 27

    • Blessing to Ephraim and Manasa of Joseph Egypt Genesis 48:21
    • Geneses 48: 21: God will be with you and bring you back to the land of his fathers
    • Joshua 24: 32 Buried Josephs bones back with his fathers in the land God promised them
    • The Generational lessons enrich the promise, or you have to learn them over

5.  Moses Zipporah/Cushite Exodus                   The Nation of the Promise
  • Ephraim became the leading tribe of the northern kingdom (Joshua 17:15Judges 3:27), and the capital, Samaria, was located in Ephraim’s territory. In fact, Scripture sometimes refers to Israel as simply “Ephraim,” due to the size of the tribe (e.g., Isaiah 11:13 and Jeremiah 31:6).

  • The crisis of belief, requiring faith in the promise and action
    •   
  • The aligning of people- coming and going
  • The  work to do that demonstrates His glory
  • The Sifting that sets the stage for the next calling
  • The Transition to the next generation to their next calling
